So instead of artificial intelligence, I think we’ ll augment our intelligence.
fachwerk.ai is the AI research division of fach.werk Web & IT Solutions, a Solingen-based company providing web design, web development and IT services to business clients. Our mission is to explore and improve AI technology that can be used to enhance our creative processes. We don’t see AI as a replacement for human creativity, but as a powerful tool for generating new ideas, improving and automating internal tasks, and saving time and effort.
As a digital company, we understand the importance of staying on the cutting edge of technology. While some creatives may fear being replaced by AI technology, we believe that “combining forces” will result in higher quality work overall.
While we use AI to improve our own operations, we do not currently offer AI services directly to customers. If you are interested in using AI for your business, please contact a company that specializes in providing AI services.
Our AI deployment focuses on four areas: image creation, text generation, data analysis, and code generation. For each of these areas we have a different set of use cases. Currently, AI services are only used in a supporting role.
Have you ever planned a storyboard, or tried to explain a photo idea? AI makes it much easier for us to communicate ideas to our clients. We can quickly turn our thoughts and inspirations into a rough image concept. Not only does this save time, but it also ensures that the client has an accurate idea of what the final product will look like.
fach.werk Web & IT Solutions serves clients in many different industries. Writing copy for a new website often requires in-depth research into the relevant field. The use of AI allows us to gain a good insight into a topic, from which we can then create meaningful copy for the website. This saves time and effort.
Understanding the big picture. AI enables us to understand trends, data, facts and figures. Based on this, we can make decisions much more easily, weigh options against each other and run through theoretical scenarios.
Currently highly experimental. The creation of code snippets for use in web design should make it easier for us to roll out custom features and tools faster, more efficiently, and at a lower cost than coding by hand.
Our current AI technologies include several third-party technologies. For text generation we use the GPT language model developed by OpenAI, for translations and text improvements we rely on DeepL (greetings to Cologne ❤️).
For image generation we use several models, including DALL-E 2, DALL-E Mini and Midjourney. For code generation we experiment with ChatGPT.
In the future we plan to have our own instance of Stable Diffusion. Stable Diffusion is a generative AI model developed by OpenAI that will generate images that are similar to a given input image, but with slight variations. This can be used to create variations of an existing image or to explore the space of possible images. Stable Diffusion is suitable for applications that require high quality images, such as computer graphics or product design, because of its unique ability to produce high-resolution images with fine detail. The biggest advantage for our work is the training of Stable Diffusion with our own images, which should allow us to include products or other custom motifs in the generated images.
